Biography

Emily is a conservation biologist and holds and MSc in conservation and biodiversity. Emily is currently a research assistant with the James lab investigating the impacts of budworm infestation on jack pine flammability to filter up to wildfire landscape modeling. Other research interests and work focus on spatial and behavioural dynamics in human wildlife interactions with a particular interest in remote monitoring combined with place based and indigenous knowledge. Emily is concurrently involved with projects in the Brazilian Amazon as well as ongoing work on conservation of western chimpanzee populations. When not in the lab, can often be found in the field hiking and taking photos, or cooking and playing rugby.
